The Los Angeles Angels are signing right-hander Trevor Cahill to a one-year, $9 million contract, a source told ESPN on Thursday, confirming multiple reports.
Cahill can earn an additional $1.5 million in incentives, ESPN confirmed.
The 30-year-old made 20 starts and one relief appearance for the Oakland A’s last season, going 7-4 with a 3.76 ERA. He struck out 100 in 110 innings.
He will join Angels newcomer Matt Harvey, who agreed to a one-year deal with the team on Wednesday, sources told ESPN.
Oakland drafted Cahill in the second round in 2006 with the 66th overall pick. He made his big league debut with the A’s in 2009 and was an All-Star in 2010.
He has an 80-83 record with a 4.08 ERA in nine big league seasons that include time with Oakland (2009-11 and 2018), Arizona (2012-14), Atlanta (2015), the Chicago Cubs (2015-16), Kansas City (2017) and San Diego (2017).
