Free agent starter Brett Anderson has reached an agreement on a one-year major league contract with the Oakland Athletics, a source familiar with the deal confirmed to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The deal, which is pending a physical Wednesday, was first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.
Anderson pitched big innings for Oakland last year, going 4-5 in 17 starts with a 4.48 ERA, and is in line for a rotation spot this season.
The 31-year-old, who played for the A’s from 2009-2013 before returning last year, stuck out 47 batters while walking 13 in 80.1 innings as Oakland won 97 games.
