Saracens will play their next five home fixtures against London rivals Harlequins at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium, the clubs announced on Tuesday.
Premiership champions Saracens played the annual derby at Wembley Stadium in 2017 before it was relocated to West Ham United’s London Stadium for the past two seasons. The partnership between the two north London teams will see the fixture played at the new 62,062-capacity stadium until at least 2024.
“It’s a really special opportunity,” Saracens chairman Nigel Wray said. “Together with Spurs we have the opportunity to create something very special in north London.”
Tottenham will play their first official match at their new home on Wednesday when they host Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The club have already played an under-18s fixture and a legends match against Inter Milan in test events at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The ground will also host two NFL regular season games in 2019, which are to be played on their state-of-the-art retractable pitch.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy added: “This is an exciting partnership and, alongside Premier League and NFL matches, it is one that continues to underline our desire to create a sports and entertainment destination that we believe can transform this area of London.”
