Toss Supernovas opted to bowl v Trailblazers
Supernovas captain Harmanpreet Kaur called it right at the toss and opted to bowl against Smriti Mandhana‘s Trailblazers in the opening game of the first multi-team Women’s T20 Challenge, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, in Jaipur.
Harmanpreet cited the greenish tinge on the surface as the reason behind putting in Trailblazers, whom they had defeated off the final ball in last year’s one-off exhibition game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Both sides are fielding all of their four overseas players, meaning Suzie Bates, Sophie Ecclestone, Shakera Selman, and Stafanie Taylor will be taking the field for Trailblazers. Supernovas, meanwhile, will be relying, for a major part, on the services of their foreign stars in Chamari Atapattu, Lea Tahuhu, Sophie Devine, and Natalie Sciver.
Trailblazers’ Jasia Akhtar will be carrying drinks while Bharti Fulmali has been left out. Supernovas’ XI will be without the India fast-bowling pair of Mansi Joshi and Arundhati Reddy.
