BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres have recalled playmaking defenseman Lawrence Pilut from the minors.
Pilut, who was called up Tuesday, has scored four goals and has 12 assists in his past 21 games and was selected to represent Rochester in the AHL All-Star game.
He ranks 12th among AHL defensemen with 21 points. He has five goals and 16 assists in 29 games.
Pilut was previously called up by Buffalo in November, but he didn’t play a game during Buffalo’s two-game series against Tampa Bay in his native Sweden.
The 23-year-old had a goal and five assists in 33 games with the Sabres as an NHL rookie last season.
The Sabres have won two straight and are in the midst of a four-day break before playing at St. Louis on Thursday.
