Hawks star guard Trae Young will not play Wednesday, when Atlanta takes on the Clippers, because of a thigh injury. Young was listed as questionable earlier Wednesday before being ruled out. Jeff Teague will replace the second-year guard in Atlanta’s starting lineup.
The Hawks have not indicated when Young suffered the injury. He played 39 minutes Monday against the Raptors and had one of his best games of the season, finishing with 42 points and 15 assists.
The 6-foot-1 Young is third in the NBA in scoring and fourth in assists, averaging 29.2 points and 8.6 assists per game.
Atlanta has followed a rare two-game winning streak with a two-game sked, including losses to Detroit and Toronto. The Clippers, meanwhile, are riding a four-game winning streak.
