A women’s MMA pioneer is set for her Bellator debut.

Liz Carmouche, who fought Ronda Rousey in the first UFC women’s bout in 2013, will face Mandy Bohm on May 29 at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, Bellator announced Friday.

The UFC surprisingly released Carmouche (13-7) in December, just four months after she fought Valentina Shevchenko for the women’s flyweight title in a losing effort.

“Girl-Rilla” said the UFC told her that she had knocked off all the other contenders in the division and the promotion wanted to keep the weight class moving.

Carmouche, 36, had won two straight and four of five going into the Shevchenko bout.

Bohm (6-0, 1 NC) has stopped four of her six victories. The Germany native will also be making her Bellator debut.

No other bouts have been announced yet for the card.
