Eoin Morgan keen to chase amid forecast for rain in Bristol

England have won the toss and chosen to bowl first under grey skies in Bristol.

The toss was delayed slightly on account of drizzle, and if the forecasts and rain radar are anything to go by, there are likely to be further weather interruptions over the next few hours. Eoin Morgan said at the toss the decision to bowl first was due largely to the possibility of rain – teams generally preferring to chase in rain-shortened games.

Despite suggesting they would test their bench strength, however, England made only one change to their XI, bringing back Chris Woakes in place of Mark Wood, who is being rested.

Oshada Fernando comes into the Sri Lanka XI meanwhile, having now recovered from the illness that kept him out of the first two matches. Charith Asalanka makes way for him. Otherwise, this is the same Sri Lanka side that lost by eight wickets on Thursday.
