Atlanta Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young has tested positive for COVID-19, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hawks coach Nate McMillan told reporters that Young had entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and was the only Hawks player on the list. Young will need two negative tests 24 hours apart to exit the protocols.
Young ranks second in the NBA with 27.3 points per game and third in assists with 9.3 per contest.
The Hawks had been scheduled to host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, but that game has been postponed, sources told Wojnarowski. Cleveland had five players test positive for COVID-19 on Sunday morning, sources told Wojnarowski, joining Evan Mobley and Isaac Okoro in the league’s health and safety protocols.
