Ireland have jumped to No. 1 in the men’s World Rugby rankings following their historic 33-22 victory over New Zealand on Saturday.

The All Blacks picked up a 42-19 victory in their first Test meeting, but Ireland followed with a 23-12 triumph on July 9 and a 33-22 win on Saturday, which secured their first ever series victory in New Zealand.

France claimed the world’s top spot last week, but were out of action at the weekend following their series win over Japan.

Ireland’s victory was enough to overtake Les Bleus as they climbed to 90.03 points, surpassing the 90-point mark for the first time since the system was introduced in 2003. This is the second time they have sat at the top of the world rankings.

Ireland sit one place above France, while New Zealand remain fourth, with England behind in fifth.

Andy Farrell’s Ireland jumped from No. 4 in the world rankings to No. 1 in just three weeks.
