Shakib returns from finger injury to lead against West Indies in first Test

Shakib Al Hasan will make a return to international cricket from a complicated finger injury after he was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the first Test against West Indies, which begins on November 22.

Shakib, who, in late September had fluid removed from his injured finger due to an infection, is among the three players who have been included in the side along with Soumya Sarkar and Naeem Islam. There was, however, no place for Liton Das, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Abu Jayed, Shafiul Islam or Nazmul Islam – all of whom have been dropped.
