WBA lightweight world titleholder Vasiliy Lomachenko faces WBO world titlist Jose Pedraza in a fight that will air live on ESPN in the United States at 9 p.m. ET Saturday night from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Ukraine’s Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs) won the title by defeating Jorge Linares by TKO in Round 10 of their fight in May at the main arena at MSG. Lomachenko underwent shoulder surgery after that fight, but he has recovered well and is fit to fight against Pedraza.
Pedraza (25-1, 12 KOs), of Caguas, Puerto Rico, is making the first defense of the world belt he won in August with a unanimous decision victory over Raymundo Beltran.
