Ireland will be without three key players for their Six Nations trip to Scotland after Garry Ringrose and Devin Toner joined CJ Stander on the sidelines.
Centre Ringrose and lock Toner are the latest players to be added to Ireland’s injured list in the wake of the 2018 Grand Slam winners’ 32-20 defeat to England in Dublin on the opening weekend.
Back row Stander had already been omitted with a facial injury but Ringrose has also been ruled out with a hamstring complaint and Toner has re-aggravated an ankle problem, the Irish Rugby Football Union confirmed on Tuesday.
Both Stander and Toner were brought off in the second half of Sunday’s match at the Aviva Stadium, while Ringrose managed to finish the game before complaining of a tight hamstring.
No. 8 Stander has been ruled out of action for “up to four weeks” with facial fractures and could miss the remainder of the tournament, with Ireland’s final match against Wales taking place on Mar. 16.
Ringrose and Toner were ruled out of the Saturday’s match at Murrayfield after further assessment by medical staff, but wing Keith Earls was involved in training on Tuesday despite a hip injury.
Ireland face Scotland at Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday.
