After Kamaru Usman dominated Tyron Woodley and dethroned Woodley as UFC welterweight champion at UFC 235, it would be natural to imagine Woodley’s family wouldn’t be thrilled to run into Usman or even harbor anger towards him.
The opposite was true on Saturday night, as Woodley’s mother Deborah embraced the man who defeated her son in an emotional backstage moment after the fight.

“It’s all good, honey. Bless your heart, it’s all good,” Deborah said. “It’s your turn, it ain’t his turn. It’s your time. Be encouraged. You hear me? And keep on working, cause they gonna come for you. And you take it to ’em.”
Deborah similarly had a kind moment with Darren Till in September 2018 , following Till’s loss to Woodley in the main event of UFC 228
