Toss Pakistan chose to bat v Australia
Pakistan elected to bat after winning the toss in Sharjah for the second match in a row. Two days after they had set Australia a target of 281, which the latter chased down comfortably, Shoaib Malik decided to have another go at it on a very similar pitch. Malik said he believed Pakistan could aim for a higher total this time. The only change made was in the bowling department: 18-year old Mohammad Hasnain got a debut, replacing Mohammad Amir.
Australia came in unchanged, somewhat unsurprisingly following Friday’s commanding performance. This time around, Aaron Finch said he might have bowled first on the surface. Victory would give Australia their fifth ODI win in a row, and put them on the cusp of another ODI series win.
