Jared Cannonier and Sean Strickland meet in a top-10 middleweight main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
The fights at the UFC Apex are on ESPN+, with the 7 p.m. ET main card preceded by prelims at 4 p.m.
Cannonier (15-6) last fought in July, when he unsuccessfully challenged then-champion Israel Adesanya, losing a unanimous decision. Prior to that, he had won five of six fights since moving to middleweight from light heavyweight. Cannonier is No. 5 in the ESPN middleweight rankings.
The ninth-ranked Strickland (25-4) last fought on that same July card, UFC 276, losing by first-round knockout to Alex Pereira, who would go on to dethrone Adesanya four months later. Strickland entered the Pereira bout on a six-fight winning streak.
Cannonier and Strickland originally were scheduled to meet on Oct. 15, but Strickland pulled out of that Las Vegas main event booking in order to undergo finger surgery./p>
