WASHINGTON — The Washington Wizards said Wednesday that starting point guard Monte Morris would be week-to-week because of lower back problems.
The Wizards also waived center Vernon Carey Jr.
Morris has averaged 10.4 points and a career-high 5.3 assists in 51 games this season. The team said he had an epidural injection Wednesday after missing the previous two games.
The Wizards are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, holding the final spot in the play-in round. They host Toronto on Thursday night.
